                              -  A skirmish mission for X-wing Alliance


Instructions:

Just unzip the contents of this file into your X-Wing Alliance skirmish directory.  

It can be played with up to eight players, three on the rebel side and five on the Imperial side.  This mission has been made from the presepective of Rebel side, however should you chose Imperials it is much easier task as this mission was not designed to be played from both sides.


The Story:

The Liberty has just received a distress call from a nearby base.  The distress call was jammed but what we did get is that a large imperial force is attacking them.   It is also known that there fighter cover is almost gone and the imperials are moving in to board the base.  From an initial probe we count at least a squadron of Tie Advanced and a squadron of Gunboats with four ATRs on there way in to board the station.

Intel tells us that currently there is one of our bothan spys there with critical information about the Alliance onboard the base.  Needless to say we must stop them boarding or lives may be lost.  I can't disclose what the bothan has in his possesion but let me clarify my last statement, we can't let that base be boarded, it must be stoped at any cost.

Unfortiently to make our job harder we are having to come out of hyperspace the oposite side of the base that the Imperials are so you will have to make your way over there fast pilots.

Corsair will be flying cover for Buccaneer as they attack the ISD II.  Rogue will be out there to shoot anything that moves. Hopefully we can stop the imperials in time but only you and your wingmen can insure this.

Goals

Stop the ATRs from boarding the station and drive away the Imperial dogs.  You must act fast as the first ATR is nearly ready to board the station.  If you forget about the ATRs the mission will be lost!  May the force be with you.


Known Bugs:

The XWA skirmish editor is adequate at best, and there are limits to what can be done to the missions and assigning individual goals to the crafts. For instance, the Imperials could destroy the base but this won't bring around a failure for the Rebel side. Unfortunately due to skirmish editor constraints there is currently no way I have found to create a mission failure if the base is destroyed.
